UFC Fight Night: Bonfim vs Brown
The UFC heads back to Vegas on Saturday, November 8th, for UFC Fight Night: Bonfim vs Brown, taking place at the UFC Apex. Gabriel Bonfim (#14), an up-and-comer in the welterweight division, recently broke into the top 15 after a split-decision win over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson back in July, and is now looking to further solidify his place in the division with a win against veteran Randy “Rudeboy” Brown. Bonfim, who relies heavily on his ground game for finishes, with 13 of his 18 wins coming by submission, will have his skills put to the test against Brown, who is 2 inches taller, and has a nearly 6 inch reach advantage.
Brown, known for his counterpunching and creative use of elbows and knees, has long been one of the division’s toughest puzzles to solve at range. If Bonfim can find a way to close the distance and force clinches, he should be able to bring the fight into his comfort zone, otherwise Brown’s length and timing will make for a difficult night for the Brazilian prospect.
